Southern Ripe Tomato is a hybrid, determinate tomato variety with an exceptional disease-package and heavy yields. This variety produces large, deep red fruits that have a flattened or deep oblate shape. Fruits are excellent when picked vine-ripe, but may also be harvested when turning pink if pests are an issue.
Southern Ripe Tomato requires no pruning and has extremely vigorous plants. These plants are resistant to a wide range of diseases including tomato spotted wilt virus, gray leaf spot and even root knot nematodes. This is a great canning variety for preserving the harvest.
